What causes my allergies?
Allergies may cause coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes and may make if difficult for some to breathe.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) studies of human exposure to air pollutants indicate that indoor levels may be two to five times- and occasionally up to 100 times - higher than outdoor levels. These levels of indoor air pollutants are of particular concern because most people spend up to 90% of their time indoors.
According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, about 20 million Americans have dust mite allergies.
Dust mites and their waste products are one of the most common causes of year-round allergies and asthma systems. Too small to be seen with the naked eye, a dust mite measures about one quarter to one third of a millimeter.

They live in carpets, furniture, bed pillows and mattresses
Their fecal matter is the dominate trigger for indoor allergies and the leading cause of 50-80% of household allergies
90% of the population that experiences any allergy-based symptoms react to dust mite allergens
Dust mites feed primarily on the tiny flakes of human skin that people normally shed each day. An average adult persona my shed up to 1.5 grams of skin in a day, an amount that can feed one million dust mites! these flakes of skin work their way deep into the inner layers of furniture, carpets bedding, and even into stuffed toys- all places where dust mites thrive!
Household dust is a mixture of many materials including fibers shed from different fabrics, particles of food, plant and insect parts, mold and fungus spores, and pet dander. It also contains many microscopic mites and their waste.
